BOSS wanted the system to allow for the following :-

Be flexible for the different charging mechanisms that applied to their clients which were a mixture of hourly rates and monthly retainers

Clients often had several services - with varying hourly rates

All the invoices had to be numbered and be saved in both pdf and Excel formats

As well as producing invoices, the system needed to produce a summary that could be directly imported into SAGE

Allowed BOSS staff to carry on recording their activity in exactly the same way

Created the invoices at a click of a button – in both Excel and pdf format

Correctly handled the varying charging mechanisms that applied to each client

Recorded all the services that a client requested and also the expenses

Catered for new clients and also stopped producing invoices for clients that they were no longer servicing

Produced an extract that could be uploaded into SAGE

Over 50 invoices to be produced in under a minute

Gave the client reassurance that the invoices were correct and consistent

SAGE to be updated easily with details of all the invoices raised

The database to be updated with the invoice numbers marked against the relevant transactions for future reference
